This is very close to the airport (if you have a rental car) and is tucked away in a valley all by itself. We had room 7 facing the forest and we really enjoyed our stay. We found the owner to very friendly and we were able to have some good times there chatting with her. This is a simple husband and wife business and is not high end. The onsen is hot, which is great. There’s only about 10 cabins which is nice. It was very peaceful. We used this as a launch pad to other places and onsens in the kirishima area too.

2 roomed chalet with Japanese bedroom and kitchen with western dining table. The ensuite was off the kitchen. The place was poorly insulated but the heating worked well. Free parking was 10m from the chalet. The hot spring baths were segregated and very hot. There was one pool each side about 3m x 4m. I didn’t like that you could see into the ladies changing room through the flimsy curtains. The landlady spoke little English but was helpful.

Christine

Authentic Japanese experience in the countryside. The rooms were quite spacious, with a decent cooking area and dining room adjacent to the bedroom. We were comfortable on the futons and it was perfectly quiet throughout the night. The onsen was very relaxing after a day of travelling. The owners are also lovely, they made us feel very welcome despite the language barrier and even offered us a ride to the airport in the morning.

Alec

Quiet location in the hills surrounded by trees. The rooms are inside cabins, mine was more than satisfactory. The onzen was nice, and when I went in the evening, I had it all for myself. Additionally there were 4 private baths available. Not mentioned in the description, but dinner and breakfast were available on location (but not included in the price).

Stephan

Very nice onsen hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. Staff even gave a ride to the restaurant nearby and picked us up after dinner. Traditional and simple onsen, indoor, and outdoor. Great location
